Message 1. What do you guys think about 93's, 94's? I know 95 is probably the best year, but if it's out of my price range, I may have to go with something a year or 2 older

You'll be allright with either

2. At what mileage are stock turbos typically replaced? Like, if I buy a car at 60K miles, can I expect to replace the turbos fairly soon?

Stock turbos can go out at anytime, depending on how the car is/was driven. Some people loose em at 60k miles, others at 124 (me) and others even later, just depends on maintanance and how hard its driven.

3. When does the clutch normally go out, under normal conditions?

I'm not really sure, but once you start adding power expect it to go out pretty quick, I'd reccomend an ACT street disk.

4. Could you guys give me a checklist of what to check for - things that are specific to the Turbo Z's (i.e. check turbos, make sure intercooler doesn't leak, etc).

FAQ section: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/usedpurchasing.html ]

5. What are your guys' experience w/ TT's that are over 100K miles? Makes sense to buy one or should I get one with lower mileage to avoid potential probs?

Save money for repairs, cheaper buy initially, but you'll be spending the saved money on repairs, i've learned this

6. What if I buy a '91/92 and swap out the motor with a 40K motor from Japan - will this be good insurance against future breakdowns?

Not nessasarily, just depends on how the maintanance was with the other engine. Jspec is a dangerous way to go, if anything rebuild

7. Finally - I need opinions on how much I should be paying for a 93, 94, and 95 TT with say, 80K miles or less.

Depends on where you live about the prices. I dont really know about southern cal prices. Its arguable but I'd say expect to pay 12k for a TT with that mileage, considering all is well mechanically.

I hope that helps some
